Os indicados ao Emmy Awards, principal premiação da televisão norte-americana, foram divulgados hoje. E pela primeira vez desde 2011, Game of Thrones não está no páreo. Com 106 indicações e 38 vitórias, a série inspirada na obra de George R.R. Martin é recordista na história do Emmy, mas ficou inelegível depois da mudança na data de estreia da nova temporada.
Com Game of Thrones de fora, aumentam as expectativas em cima de outros concorrentes. Westworld e Saturday Night Live são os programas com maior número de indicações: 22 para cada um. Em seguida estão Stranger Things e Feud: Bette and Joan, com 18 indicações cada.

A entrega dos prêmios será em 17 de setembro, no Microsoft Theater, em Los Angeles. O comediante Stephen Colbert (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) será o apresentador.
